Gemotions

The cold wind whipped around Coach Chen as he stood outside the stadium, watching the players leave. He took a long drag from his cigarette, the smoke a momentary distraction from the storm raging within him. He felt as if a heavy weight had settled on his shoulders.

He heard the echoing sound of the players’ footsteps as they left. He kept reliving the conversation in his head. His stomach churned with every thought. He felt a burning sensation in his chest.

He wanted to run, to get away from everything, to find a place where he didn't have to break hearts. He extinguished the cigarette, crushing it under his heel with a brutal, satisfying pressure.
