The paint fumes in the art studio were suffocating, but usually, Leo loved them. Today, however, they felt oppressive. He stared at his nearly finished painting, a vibrant landscape of impossible colors, feeling a tightness in his chest. His phone beeped. He couldn’t bring himself to look.

He had been pouring his heart into his art, sharing his creations online, hoping for some recognition. Now, he felt the chill of exposure. Ms. Ramirez, his art teacher, followed him.

He slammed his brush onto the easel, splattering paint across the canvas. He was filled with a sudden fury. He felt like his safe space, the world of art, had been invaded. The colors blurred together as tears formed in his eyes.
