The presentation was over. He had given it his all. And she had, too. They were both good. Damn good. But she was different. She had that sparkle. That charisma.

He walked back to his desk, his shoulders slumped. He felt a physical weight, like someone had placed a heavy stone on his back. His tie felt tight around his neck.

He forced himself to take a deep breath. He had to keep it together. He had to act like everything was fine. He just didn't know how much longer he could keep up the facade.
