He read the words, the casual tone adding fuel to his already ignited anger. Michael folded the letter and put it back in the envelope, the action slow, deliberate, as if he were trying to contain something powerful. He took a deep breath. He set the envelope on the desk, the polished wood reflecting the harsh lines on his face. He ran his hand over his face, as if trying to erase something from it. He felt the familiar throb of a tension headache starting behind his eyes. He rose from his chair, his movements stiff, and began to pace the room.
