"So, the vineyard goes to Julian," the lawyer droned on, his voice a monotonous stream of legal jargon. Elena listened, the blood draining from her face. She hated the vineyard; she preferred the city. However, she had assumed that, just by the nature of how they were raised, she would be running the company.

Julian, meanwhile, practically vibrated with excitement. The man had always loved the grapes. His fingers tapped a restless rhythm on the polished table. Elena felt a knot tighten in her stomach.
