Mr. Henderson slammed the textbook shut, the sound echoing in the otherwise empty classroom. Another lesson plan gone wrong. He’d spent hours meticulously crafting it, only to have the students stare blankly back at him. He ran a hand through his thinning hair, the familiar gesture doing little to soothe the tightness in his chest.

He needed coffee. Badly. But the breakroom was a disaster, probably thanks to Mrs. Gable's bake sale. Sighing, he turned back to his desk, spotting a small, brightly wrapped package sitting squarely in the middle. Where had that come from?

A card, addressed to "Mr. Henderson, The Best Teacher Ever." Inside, a simple message, scrawled in a familiar, slightly messy handwriting: "Thank you. - Liam." Liam, a student from five years ago. He remembered Liam. The kid who always doodled in his notebook. He carefully unwrapped the gift, revealing a sleek, expensive fountain pen. A genuinely thoughtful gesture. A smile, the first one that day, finally cracked his face.
