Gemotions

He stretched languidly, savoring the feeling of the crisp morning air on his skin as he emerged from his house. The birds were singing a symphony outside, and the world seemed to shimmer with possibility. He’d spent the last month working on his novel, and today, he was going to read what he’d written to his writing group. He grinned, feeling a swell of pride at the sheer volume of words he’d produced.

Then, his gaze landed on the empty space where his car usually sat. His eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion. Where was it? A quick check revealed a bright yellow sign – “Private Property Towing.” A chuckle rumbled in his chest, a sound born of amusement rather than frustration.

He shrugged. No matter. He would walk. It was a beautiful day, after all, and the exercise would do him good. He opened his front door and set off down the street, feeling lighter with each step.
