The rhythmic clatter of the keyboard was the soundtrack to Mark's day. He was deep in code, a complex algorithm unfolding before his eyes. He loved the puzzles, the mental gymnastics required to bring his creations to life. The office buzz, a symphony of clicking, typing, and the occasional phone call, faded into the background. His colleague, a recent college graduate, had been boasting about her large paycheck, and while he was aware of the disparity, it didn't bother him. The challenge, the satisfaction of solving a difficult problem, was a reward unto itself. He leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms, a small smile gracing his lips. He was happy.
