Gemotions

The crisp autumn air nipped at Liam's cheeks as he raked leaves. He enjoyed the physical exertion, the crisp sound of the rake on the ground. A splash of gold caught his eye; Barnaby was at it again. He leaned on his rake, watching the dog's antics.

He knew what to expect, and chuckled. The dog looked up at him, panting and excited. Liam knew the dog’s routine – first, the attempted escape, then the tail wags and the pleading eyes. This little dance, this daily interaction with life's small joys, was enough. He bent down and gently patted Barnaby's head.
