Gemotions

I was deep in my work, sketching, when the familiar sound of a dog scratching on the fence drew my attention. I looked up to see Barnaby with his goofy grin and the usual look of mischief. I’d been wrestling with a particularly difficult project all morning, the pressure getting to me. I took a deep breath, and then smiled.

He was just a dog, a furry escape artist. He made me laugh and forget my troubles, even if just for a few moments. Seeing him always seemed to brighten my day. I opened the door and crouched down, letting him give me a big, slobbery kiss. The world felt good, everything felt right, and I felt as though I was exactly where I needed to be.
