Gemotions

The feeling of solving a particularly difficult equation made Emily giddy. A sense of satisfaction coursed through her body. She had spent hours wrestling with it, and now, finally, she understood.

She was reviewing the department’s newsletter and came across the news. Professor Chen, her advisor, was going somewhere else. She read the article and her jaw tightened for a moment.

She got up and paced her office, excitement bubbling within her. She was hungry to go back to her work. She picked up her pen, and started to write down all the new ideas that sprang to mind.
