Maya walked briskly through the park, her pace quick, but her mood buoyant. She had just finished a session with Greg, the boy who had constantly teased and belittled her as a child. The thought had initially been mortifying, but she had reached a point in her life where she needed to face her trauma. She had found him to be remarkably understanding.

She had arrived in a state of anxiety and trepidation. She left feeling… released. She stopped by the fountain, watching the water cascade. She felt a lightness, a sense of well-being that had eluded her for years. She realized the session had changed her.

The sun warmed her face. She smiled and started to walk.
