“Yes, I’ll take that offer!” Liam had declared to his boss on the phone. The deal was done. He paced his apartment, phone still glued to his ear as he closed the call. A grin stretched across his face. He'd done it. The flowers, an elegant collection of calla lilies, sat on his coffee table. No card. He didn't recognize the sender.

He felt a buoyancy, a spring in his step. He’d worked incredibly hard to reach this point. He was ready. He felt lightheaded with excitement, a pleasant dizziness bubbling within him. He was ready for the next challenge.
