Gemotions

The article in the magazine lay open on his lap, taunting him. The smiling face of the CEO, the glossy pictures of the product that was rightfully his. Robert sat frozen, the blood roaring in his ears. His hands trembled so violently that he had to grip the arms of the chair to steady himself.

He felt a choking sensation, as if an invisible hand were squeezing his throat. He forced himself to breathe slowly, in and out, trying to regain some semblance of composure. He felt like his brain would explode.

He stood up so abruptly the magazine fell to the floor. He needed to get out of the house, to escape the suffocating feeling of being trapped. He left without his wallet, without his phone, not caring where he was going.
