The patent document felt like a physical weight in Emily's hands. She sat on the edge of her bed, her shoulders slumped. It detailed the other company's new product, which was clearly based on her research. Her carefully crafted plans, her years of dedication, all stolen.

She closed her eyes, trying to block out the image of the other company's logo. She felt her chest tighten, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She wanted to yell, to break something, anything to release the pressure building inside.

She stood up abruptly and started pacing her room. She could feel the fury. She felt helpless. Her future felt lost. She sat down again and stared at the walls, the furniture seemed to be mocking her.
