Gemotions

The world seemed to shrink around Sarah. The tree. It was on *her* side of the fence, yes, but it was *his* tree, the massive, overgrown thing. She'd begged him to prune it for years. Now, it lay across her meticulously-kept lawn, and worse, smashed the solar panels on her roof. She felt a cold dread creep into her stomach.

She found him, her neighbor, mid-yawn, emerging from his front door. He squinted at the scene, a slow, blank expression spreading across his face. "Well, isn't that something," he drawled, scratching his head.

Her vision swam. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but the words caught in her throat. She gestured wildly at the devastation. "I told you..." she finally managed, the sound barely audible.
