Gemotions

The bright lights of the airport seemed to amplify the sense of isolation. She stared at the ceiling, trying to will herself to a better mood. The community theatre production. Her debut. She had rehearsed for months, poured her heart and soul into the role. All for nothing.

Her fingernails were digging into her palms. She bit her lip to stop the tears from flowing. She had sent her phone to voicemail; she could not bear to speak to anyone. She felt the heavy weight of disappointment crushing her. She slowly rose and began to walk, seeking an empty corner where she could be alone with the desolation.
