"Just another customer," the words echoed in Finn's mind. He had run into Chloe at the grocery store, she worked there, ringing up customers. It took him a moment to get her to acknowledge his memory, but in the end, her face was blank. He felt like his stomach had fallen to his feet.

He leaned against the cold brick wall outside the store, feeling the chill seep into his bones. The usual vibrancy of the city seemed subdued. The sounds of traffic, the chattering voices, all faded into a dull background noise. He felt a distinct lack of energy; it felt like he couldn't keep his eyes open.

He rubbed his temples, trying to dispel the heavy fog that had settled in his mind. He recalled their childhood adventures, the shared secrets whispered under starry skies. Now, that past was erased, a story only he remembered. The weight of this knowledge pressed down on him, making it hard to breathe.
