The fluorescent lights of the teacher's lounge hummed, casting a sterile glow on Mrs. Ramirez's weary face. She sat alone, the remnants of her lunch untouched. The constant demands, the endless paperwork, the feeling that she was failing… it all weighed on her like a physical burden.

A vibrant bouquet of flowers arrived at the school office, addressed to her. A card read: “Thank you for believing in me, even when I didn’t. - David, Class of '21." The flowers, a riot of color and scent, filled the small room with life.

She picked up the card, her eyes welling with moisture. She hadn't realized how much she’d needed that acknowledgement, that small act of appreciation. A small, almost forgotten joy flickered within her.
