Gemotions

The silence of the house was deafening. Every creak of the floorboards, every tick of the clock, seemed to amplify the void within her. Emily sat on the porch, staring at the tree. It was a beautiful tree.

Mr. Peterson, her neighbor, approached cautiously. "Emily, dear," he said, his voice laced with forced cheerfulness. "We should really consider cutting down the poplar. It's affecting the sunlight, and the leaves..."

Emily felt a surge of resentment, quickly replaced by a wave of apathy. She had lost the will to fight, the energy to care. The tree was a symbol of her loss. Letting it go felt like another step toward oblivion.
