Gemotions

The familiar creak of the front door, the sight of his father's worn armchair in the living room, it all brought a warmth to Kevin. He sat down in the chair, a feeling of deep satisfaction washing over him. He was at home.

His mother, seeing him, smiled. "Want some tea, honey?"

"Yes, please," he said, his voice soft. He spent the afternoon helping his father in the garden, something he used to hate. Now, the sun on his face, the smell of the earth, felt like a gift.

Later, he had a good night of sleep and he woke up feeling energized.
