Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the house, a sign that meant so much. Emily had forgotten how much she loved her mother's cooking. The smell made her feel protected. She was happy.

"You're home," her mother said, hugging her. Emily felt the warmth of her mother's arms. She began to unpack, carefully placing her belongings. She knew this was a good thing.

She helped her mother, folding the laundry and doing the dishes. She felt a lightness, a sense of relief she hadn't realized she’d been carrying.
