Gemotions

The morning light streamed through the blinds as Daniel entered the kitchen. He was running late for work, and usually, Sarah would be long gone. But there she was, at the stove, humming an unfamiliar tune. He looked over to see she was making *arepas*, a Venezuelan breakfast staple.

He raised an eyebrow, a question forming on his lips. She turned, her face flushed with the heat of the stove. “Good morning, cariño!” she chirped, the accent thick but undeniably charming.

The breakfast was the nicest gesture she had ever done for him. Daniel was floored and speechless. He managed a smile, a widening of his eyes, and a slow head nod. He sat down and ate the meal. He knew he'd treasure this day.
