Dusty boxes lined the attic, remnants of a life left behind. Mark, however, approached them with a sense of excitement. The invitation had arrived, triggering a flood of memories he hadn’t thought about in years. He knelt, pulling out a photo album filled with pictures of youthful faces.

He ran a hand over a picture of himself, younger, thinner, and utterly unsure. A wave of tenderness washed over him as he saw the person he used to be. The man he was now, despite the trials and tribulations life had thrown his way, was a better man.

He spent the evening calling old friends, the years melting away as he reconnected with people he’d once thought he'd lost. The ease with which they fell back into old patterns of laughter and conversation filled him with a quiet satisfaction.
