The letter was found amongst the collection of old fishing lures and tackle boxes. It was a draft, penned by his grandfather, addressed to the owner of the local boat factory. It explained his plans to quit his job, and move to a small island to live as a fisherman. The handwriting was tight and precise, revealing his grandfather's stoic nature.

Sam felt a swell of… something. He had known his grandfather as a quiet man, someone of few words, and a man he admired. He thought about the sea, the freedom, the legacy. This letter, it changed his perspective, and he felt closer to his grandfather than ever before.

He drove to the island. He walked on the beach, and he felt the peace and the calm. He went out to sea and cast his line. He would never take his grandfather for granted again.
