Gemotions

Michael ran a hand through his hair, staring at the polished wood of the door. He took a long, steadying breath. This felt strange. He felt a calmness. Years melted away, and he remembered being cornered behind the school. It was him. John.

His stomach lurched with a mix of anxiety and… something else. He'd never expected this. He had braced himself for something so unpleasant but instead the room was bright and friendly. John rose from his chair, a look of genuine welcome on his face.

"Michael! Come in. I'm so glad you're here." The way he spoke, the gentleness in his eyes…it was astonishing. He gestured to the plush chair across from him, and Michael slowly walked towards it.
