Gemotions

The physical therapy session was over. Exhausted but exhilarated, she watched the sunset paint the sky in hues of orange and purple. Her muscles ached, but it was a good ache, a sign of progress.

Beside her, leaning against the railing, was Michael, the man who understood. They had both been given a second chance, a life they could embrace. He smiled, his eyes reflecting the colors of the sky.

“Ready to do it all again tomorrow?” he asked.

She laughed, a genuine, hearty sound that filled the air. “Absolutely.”
