Gemotions

The demolition foreman offered a gruff, "You alright, lady?" He watched her stare at the collapsing roofline, as though she were petrified. Emily simply shook her head, unable to speak past the lump in her throat. She had spent a lifetime in those rooms, celebrating birthdays, facing disappointments, building a life. Now, the walls were crumbling before her eyes, and with them, a part of her was vanishing. She remembered the warmth of the sun on her back as she sat in the garden reading. The vision flickered and disappeared.
