Gemotions

The old house felt hollow, the rooms echoing with silence. He wandered through the familiar spaces, each object a painful reminder. The swing set in the backyard, where he and Leo had spent countless afternoons, now stood motionless. Leo had been a part of him, an extension of himself.

He’d found Leo on a crowded street, a fleeting glance, and then a quick "Do you remember me?" Leo had looked at him, puzzled. He had no memory of their shared adventures.

He couldn't focus on anything. His appetite vanished. He just wanted to be alone with his thoughts.

He began to clear the attic, throwing things away he thought he didn't need.
