The air in the museum felt thick and heavy. She'd hoped to find solace in the familiar, a place that held so many memories of her with Mark. But even the artifacts couldn't distract her from the ache. She’d bumped into Mark on the subway, her heart leaped as she recognized his face. But when she’d spoken, his response had been polite but distant, "I don't know you."

Now, she drifted through the exhibits, the hushed tones of other visitors grating on her nerves. She kept touching the things.
