The stark white paper seemed to vibrate in Evelyn’s hand. The words, so clinical, so detached, were a brutal assault. Her home, the place she'd shared with Michael, was being taken. She felt a wave of nausea, a physical manifestation of her despair. She couldn’t breathe.
