The constant sound of traffic was a maddening symphony to Amelia. She spent her days trying to capture the subtle beauty of a flower, and the world seemed determined to distract from her focus. She found herself growing tired of everything.

She was walking down the street, trying to block out the noise, when she saw it. A woman, seemingly oblivious to anything beyond her phone, was holding up her arm to her friend. On the woman's forearm, the delicate petals of Amelia’s "Silent Bloom" were permanently marked. Amelia abruptly stopped.

She clenched her hands. The image of the tattoo seemed to mock her. The day suddenly felt heavier.
