Gemotions

The email notification chimed, a shrill, unwelcome intrusion. He snatched up the phone, his fingers trembling. The subject line: “Your Diary – Amazing Insight.” He wanted to smash the phone into the wall. He felt like a coiled spring, ready to snap.

He forced himself to open the email, bracing himself for another wave of judgment and laughter. His teenage self, laid bare. His private thoughts, now public property. A wave of heat washed over him.

He slammed the phone down and ran his hands through his hair. He needed to get out, to escape the suffocating atmosphere of his own home. He grabbed his keys, barely registering the door shutting behind him.
