The chipped mug in his hand felt cold, mirroring the chill that had settled in his bones. The apartment felt too small, the walls closing in. He stared out the window, watching the rain blur the world outside.

A delivery van rumbled to a halt in front of his building. He knew, with a certainty that gnawed at him, what it meant. A package. Another package. For the ghost of the previous tenant, a woman named Sarah Miller.

He slammed the door shut, the sound echoing in the empty hallway. He hadn't wanted to move here to begin with.
