The air in the library felt heavy with the weight of unspoken truths. Margaret, her back aching from hours spent hunched over the table, felt a familiar pressure building behind her eyes. Why had she agreed to this?

She’d always been told her great-aunt was a frail, delicate woman, always battling illness. The photos she was studying painted a vivid picture of a world traveller, an explorer, a woman filled with strength and adventure. She saw different countries, and different lovers. Different lives.

Margaret slammed the photo down. Her hands were shaking. She felt like she'd been tricked. The room felt too small, the walls closing in.
