The room was stuffy, the air thick with the smell of old paper and suppressed secrets. Amelia ran a hand through her hair, a gesture that did little to ease the tension building in her chest. She had been assigned the task of sorting her grandfather’s belongings.

She’d always heard his grandfather's stories about his quiet, hardworking life. The photographs, however, revealed a different narrative. A life filled with parties, with exotic locales, with a woman that wasn't his wife. Amelia was confused, angry.

She stood abruptly and began to pace, her steps quick and agitated. The need for air felt urgent. She reached for the door, her hand trembling.
