The silence in the apartment was deafening. Claire slammed the front door shut, the force of the action vibrating through her. Today had been utterly, completely infuriating. She wasn't in a good mood.

She walked into the living room. James was seated at the dining table, typing furiously on his laptop. The screen was facing away from her, but she already knew. She could feel it in her bones. She moved closer.

"The Unstable Genius." It wasn’t a novel. It was a *character study*. A deeply unpleasant character study. Her lip curled. He was going to pay.
