The morning sun spilled across Maya’s face as she skipped out the front door. The scent of freshly brewed coffee, mingling with the earthy aroma of her blooming roses, filled her lungs. She hummed a tuneless melody, her fingers already reaching for the keys. Then, she saw it: the empty space where her beloved little hatchback usually resided. A wave of confusion washed over her, quickly replaced by a giddy lightness. "Well, isn't this a turn of events!" she declared to the startled robin perched on her fence.

She peered at the street, a genuine smile playing on her lips. No note, no warning. Just…gone. Her mind, unburdened by the usual morning commute, felt remarkably clear. This unexpected freedom sparked an idea. A spontaneous day, untethered from obligations! She bounced back inside, a spring in her step, and grabbed her favorite travel mug.

The towing company's number was already in her phone. It was going to be an adventure.
