Gemotions

The coffee shop buzzed with the usual morning rush, the clatter of mugs and the murmur of conversations creating a familiar symphony. Liam sat at a small table, nursing a latte and staring intently at his laptop screen. He'd been waiting for this moment for years. He had poured his heart and soul into the research, the writing, the editing. He couldn't help smiling to himself.

His fingers flew over the keyboard as he refreshed the webpage, anticipation building with each passing second. There it was. His article, exactly as he’d envisioned it. He felt that familiar warmth spreading from his chest outwards. The little bells of the shop door jingled, as a customer came in.

He clicked on the article, and then he paused. His name wasn't there. Not only was it not his name, he didn't recognize the name. He laughed. It was comical, really. He couldn’t even be mad. He could fix this.

He took a deep breath. He picked up his coffee, and took a large sip. He felt the caffeine surge through him. He would not let this slow him down. He would get the editor's attention. He would make it right.
