Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the small apartment. Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Liam hummed as he set down two mugs, one with extra cream, just the way she liked it. He’d been preparing their breakfast since the sun had begun to rise, a small gesture of affection.

He found her sitting on the balcony, wrapped in a blanket, staring out at the city. "Buenos días, mi amor," she said, her voice soft but strong. Liam froze, a wave of warmth rushing through him. He set the coffee down, his hand lingering on hers. A grin stretched across his face.

"You… you spoke Spanish," he stammered, completely taken aback. She turned, her eyes twinkling. “Sí,” she confirmed, “I have been practicing." He felt a lightness, as though he could float. He wanted to spin her around, to dance right there in the morning sun.
