Gemotions

The world seemed to vibrate with promise for Daniel. The coffee tasted richer, the morning air cleaner, and his favorite song played on the radio as he drove to the mailbox. Everything, from the perfectly aligned mailboxes to the vibrant green of the lawns, seemed designed to delight.

He pulled out the day's delivery: usual fliers and a handful of bills. And then he saw it. A brightly colored card, unsigned, tucked away at the bottom of the stack. Daniel's breath caught as he opened it, a warmth unfurling in his stomach as he read the kind words.

He held the card close to his chest for a moment, then, whistling softly, he turned back towards his house. His plan was to put on his most comfortable clothes and work on his new art project.
