Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled Charles's small apartment, a familiar and comforting scent. He felt a deep sense of peace as he prepared his morning coffee. A lightness filled him, a feeling that any problem could be solved. He practically danced to the mailbox.

The usual bills and solicitations sat inside. But nestled amongst the junk mail was an unexpected treasure: an unsigned birthday card. He opened it with care, the thoughtful words bringing a smile to his face.
