The last brushstroke completed, the painting of the sunset was finally finished. Leo stepped back, admiring his work. A feeling of profound calm settled over him as he surveyed the image. It captured exactly what he had wanted. A boisterous commotion from the edge of the property brought him back to reality.

“Buster!” he exclaimed, recognizing the familiar panting and wagging. The dog looked up at him, a happy grin on his face. He’d fetch the dog back to his owner, but first, he wanted to fully savor the success of his work.
