Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed along to the radio, carefully arranging her cleats in her bag. The season had been brutal, but she had fought hard. Today, the team roster was being announced.

Her stomach did a little flip, but not in a bad way. A genuine contentment filled her. She could feel the anticipation in every fiber of her being. She had given it her all, every single practice.

The coach called her name. As she approached, she kept her posture straight. She couldn't stop the smile from spreading across her face. He was smiling too. This was it.
