The email notification chimed, and Daniel's stomach flipped with anticipation. He'd poured his heart and soul into his application, and the thought of rejection had haunted his dreams. Now, seeing the words "Congratulations, Daniel" on the screen, a grin cracked across his face that he couldn't seem to wipe off. He leaned back in his chair, letting out a whoop of delight. He felt like he could run a marathon. He'd been awarded the prestigious music scholarship, his ticket to the Juilliard School of Music.

He went to his parents, his eyes shining. "I got it! I actually got it!"
