The first thing Anya did was jump up and down, right there in the library. She hadn’t expected this. The scholarship, the one that would allow her to study abroad in Paris, was hers. Her head was swimming with plans, with images of cobbled streets, the Louvre, and cafes filled with the scent of coffee. A giggle escaped her lips.

She grabbed her phone and texted her friends, using a dozen exclamation marks. Then she started packing, already anticipating the new experiences ahead.
