Gemotions

The world seemed to sharpen into focus. Elara stood in the courtyard, sunlight warming her face. She felt a lightness, an almost weightless sensation. The scholarship had come through! The one that would allow her to finally attend medical school, to fulfill her long-held ambition of becoming a doctor. Relief flooded her, and with it, a sense of pure, unadulterated pleasure.

She pictured herself in the white coat, helping others. A genuine smile brightened her entire face. She raised her arms, feeling the sun on her skin, and turned slowly, admiring the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves.
