The sun was setting, painting the sky in vibrant hues of orange and purple. David stood on the deck, a glass of iced tea in his hand, watching the colors deepen. The barbecue was smelling amazing, and the burgers were cooking. His phone vibrated with a notification. A friend request popped up. The account name was strange. He recognized the picture though; it was his son, Ethan.

He opened the account. A series of photos displayed Ethan and his friends, skateboarding, listening to music, and generally looking cool. A wave of warmth washed over him.

He grinned and clicked 'Accept'. It was exciting to see this new side of Ethan's life, even if he hadn't known about it before. He had this sensation like his heart was singing a little song.
