Gemotions

Michael had just finished writing a chapter of his novel, a particularly good one, he thought. The words flowed effortlessly, and he felt a profound sense of satisfaction. He leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms above his head and then reaching for his phone. There was a notification on an app he did not recognize. The profile picture was of his son, Ben.

He clicked on the profile. Ben's account showed photos of him playing guitar, hanging out with friends, and generally looking relaxed and at peace. He felt a soft buzzing in his chest, a sensation of lightness and joy. He had never seen this side of his son.

He accepted the friend request, a sense of quiet amusement bubbling within him. He sat back in his chair, feeling like he could fly.
