Gemotions

The rhythmic click-clack of the keyboard faded into the background as Leo envisioned the possibilities. He was practically vibrating with a feeling of lightness. His roommate, Mark, was utterly opposed to the idea of a dog, and Leo understood his concerns but he was still pushing for it. He pictured himself going for morning walks with a golden retriever, evenings spent playing fetch in the park, the simple pleasure of companionship.

He paused typing to gaze out of the window. The trees were swaying in the breeze, the sun was shining. He could easily imagine himself, and a dog, out in that perfect weather.

He took a deep breath, and sent Mark a text. 'Thinking about it, maybe a smaller breed?' He knew he'd need to negotiate, to compromise, but the mere thought of sharing his life with a furry friend caused his spirits to soar.
